Plot Layout:
A 1 hectare silviculture plot is located in all clearcut, 50% and 75% treatments in Conifer and Deciduous dominant stand types.
Each plot is divided into 4 treatment quadrants.
Quadrant Treatments:
Each quadrant was treated with one of the following site preparations:
High-speed, horizontal bed mixing (meri-crusher)
Scalping
Mounding
or no site preparation
Planting and seeding:
Half of each quadrant was planted with 100 415B White Spruce in July 1999.
The other half of each quadrant was seeded with local white spruce seed.
